Abstract
Change is an inevitable reality for any organization to adapt to the changes successfully, and employees should be willing to cooperate during the change process. The objectives of this study are to investigate the relationship between Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) and employee Affective Commitment to Change (ACC) and how Psychological Empowerment (PE) moderates the above relationship. Data were collected from 132 employees working in various organizations. The data was collected through structured questionnaires from employees working in Lahore, Pakistan. The results indicate that LMX and PE have significant positive impacts on ACC. Furthermore, PE acting as moderator strengthens the direct influences of LMX on ACC. In light of the study’s findings, organizations need to ensure the development of the dyadic relationship between supervisors and employees. Leaders who foster a healthy relationship with employees are considered to be most effective during the change process. Organizations should take into account the role of empowerment and accordingly implement strategies that encourage its occurrence.
